Peppol receiving and AutoScan now available in Iceland

Icelandic companies can now receive invoices from the Peppol network through Maventa, and AutoScan is available for the invoices that still arrive as PDFs by email. Peppol is the main e-invoicing network in Iceland, with more than 11,000 Icelandic participants in the Peppol Directory. Together, these two services let Icelandic companies receive their supplier invoices in one place, whether they arrive as e-invoices or as PDFs.

Peppol receiving

Register the company to receive from Peppol in the same way as in any other country: call POST /v1/company/profiles with the network PEPPOL. When the request leaves out scheme and endpoint_id, Maventa forms the Peppol address from the company’s kennitala. If you send them, use the scheme 0196 and the ten digits of the kennitala.

Identifier Peppol scheme Example Peppol address
Kennitala 0196 0196:5555555559

The Peppol address uses the ten digits of the kennitala without the hyphen. Once registered, the company is listed in the Peppol Directory, and senders across the Peppol network can find it.

AutoScan

AutoScan reads PDF invoices sent by email and turns them into e-invoices, so they arrive in the same flow as the rest. Activate it through the REST API with PUT /v1/services/autoscan or in the Maventa user interface.

Each Icelandic company gets its own AutoScan email address, built from its kennitala, for example IS-5555555559@autoscan.maventa.com. The address can be used in two ways:

The company must have invoice receiving enabled before it can register for Peppol or activate AutoScan. For step-by-step instructions, see the invoice receiving integration guide and the scanning guide.
